WOESTIJNROOS, 2021

Short film, 15 minutes

A film that perhaps does not want to be called a film, rather a poem in images. A self-portrait in a Greek landscape, that tries to break free from time and space and searches for sensory perception. A gentle embrace of the environment and a search for connection: if you leave behind your own context, how do you find yourself again? About isolation, wandering and a flower that reopens after years.

"She created the short film Woestijnroos during a residency in Crete. It is a colorful, visual poem full of natural beauty; in which she is inspired by her environment. In this film, Wilson again plays with projected text full of self-reflection, creating a monologue interior. Even when it is a lonely adventure, a change of scenery heals the soul. That is palpable, also for the viewer."
